The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In a very dangerous position, a player in Södertälje Sportklubb fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Oliver Queen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 8th minute Allan Ödman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingmar Strömberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Emil Bäcklin took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Ingmar Strömberg to make any attempt to save it. In the 14th minute Erland Jakobsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Ambjörnsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ingmar Strömberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Queen, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Ingmar Strömberg was a little too slow when Oliver Queen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erland Jakobsson in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Ambjörnsson saved Helsingborgs IF from getting behind. Oliver Queen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 32nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Oliver Queen kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Oliver Queen in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ingmar Strömberg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 38th minute, Helsingborgs IF's Oliver Queen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Erland Jakobsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th match minute, Helsingborgs IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Lilja to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Queen in the 49th minute of play forced Södertälje Sportklubb's goalkeeper Ingmar Strömberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erland Jakobsson made a kick off. After some careless play in the Södertälje Sportklubb defense, Allan Ödman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ingmar Strömberg. The Södertälje Sportklubb fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ingmar Strömberg should have stopped the shot. If Oliver Queen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliver Queen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingmar Strömberg having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Södertälje Sportklubb's zone, Allan Ödman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ingmar Strömberg came out of the goal and Allan Ödman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Södertälje Sportklubb's Konrad Östensson got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 69th minute, Oliver Queen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Helsingborgs IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. After having played for 73 minutes, Malcolm Abrahamsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Södertälje Sportklubb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Malcolm Abrahamsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Helsingborgs IF's Brian Nordal was substituted for Sakarias Anundsson. The Helsingborgs IF fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Helsingborgs IF's Oliver Queen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 90 minutes, Oliver Queen made it 9-0 with a short kick to the right side. Södertälje Sportklubb's Ingmar Strömberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 96 minutes, Oliver Queen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
