Andy Eklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Michael Emander in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Brandstorp FK's Jens Norström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andy Eklund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Birger Olenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andreas Gustavsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute Karl-Michael Emander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andy Eklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andreas Gustavsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andreas Gustavsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andy Eklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens Norström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, FC Skräddarbacken's Andreas Gustavsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Per Beckström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Brandstorp FK getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Philip Termander hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jens Norström to make the kick off. Andreas Gustavsson kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 54 played minutes Brandstorp FK got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Malmberg. The audience was convinced that Andreas Gustavsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per Beckström was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Birger Olenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Per Beckström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaf Wennerqvist struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Per Beckström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Skräddarbacken. Per Beckström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andreas Gustavsson's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Birger Olenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Skräddarbacken's supporters rose to their feet, but Birger Olenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Per Beckström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Per-Arne Säv hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 67 minutes, Claes Falkrantz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Skräddarbacken and the Brandstorp FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th minute of the match Ulf Rudkvist shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andy Eklund showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 72nd match minute, Brandstorp FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Damm to maneuver through the defense. Andy Eklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens Norström in the 74th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Karl-Michael Emander could shoot a difficult shot in the 78th minute, which Andy Eklund however easily saved by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andreas Gustavsson in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Per Beckström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andreas Gustavsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Per Beckström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andreas Gustavsson ran back to his position shaking his head. The Brandstorp FK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brandstorp FK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
