The supporters of BK Hjärta booed when Ödeshög BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svante Spets didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ödeshög BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommy Björk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute John Kremer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Tunander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carl Söderquist made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Billy Brovall sent off a good shot on target. Malin Malon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Tunander having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Kremer in the 25th minute of play forced Ödeshög BK's goalkeeper Jon Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Malin Malon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half BK Hjärta were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Kremer to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Svante Spets made a precise shot to the right of Carl Söderquist. BK Hjärta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 59th minute Florencio Jauregui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Söderquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th match minute, BK Hjärta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olov Josefsson to maneuver through the defense. Jon Tunander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, BK Hjärta's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Arvidsson came free, but Carl Söderquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
