The audience was convinced that Emanuel Säf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henning Näver was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. When Brian Hedlund came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Villaborg IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brian Hedlund couldn't finish the play. Åke Falkrantz didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 22nd minute. Villaborg IF's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Brian Hedlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Tobias Markusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brian Hedlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Åke Åström charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Atlético Sundsvall's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villaborg IF the free kick.
