Gunnar Kurk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Byström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Wictor Svanér shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Kurk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gunnar Kurk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Duset, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Byström in the 25th minute of play forced Allmänna idrottsklubben's goalkeeper Gunnar Kurk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Allmänna idrottsklubben's goal looked a bit too open when Ivar Öfverman came free, but Gunnar Kurk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gunnar Kurk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wictor Svanér in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Byström in the 31st minute of play forced Allmänna idrottsklubben's goalkeeper Gunnar Kurk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jimmy Lönn kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After 32 played minutes, Backe's Folke Lundqvist shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gunnar Kurk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Backe reached it. Ivar Öfverman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Gunnar Kurk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivar Öfverman took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gunnar Kurk. Gunnar Kurk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 43 minutes into the game, Backe's Wictor Svanér nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gunnar Kurk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 47th minute Ivar Öfverman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Kurk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 51 played minutes Allmänna idrottsklubben got a freekick which was hit by George Beckeman. In the 57th minute, Ivar Öfverman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Backe's Leonard Byström slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gunnar Kurk. That made the score 0-3 after 59 minutes of play. With a little luck, Allmänna idrottsklubben's Gunnar Kurk got control of the ball when Ivar Öfverman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gunnar Kurk made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Leonard Duset sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Backe getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Leonard Byström hit a great ball. In the 69th minute Ivar Öfverman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Kurk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Leonard Duset managed to get in a good position for a shot. Backe's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Duset was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gunnar Kurk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Fredrik Arhenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Backe's Gunnar Kurk threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ivar Öfverman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Allmänna idrottsklubben getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Joacim Lindholm hit a great ball. The nice shot from Wictor Svanér in the 85thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Gunnar Kurk had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of Allmänna idrottsklubben:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Backe:s goal. 93 minutes into the match, Allmänna idrottsklubben's goalkeeper Gunnar Kurk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wictor Svanér. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Brandt in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sven-Ove Söderberg saved Backe from getting behind. Backe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
