Sven Lundin hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Leonardo Eriksson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Göran Linquist was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 16th minute, Vilgot Hjelm made a precise shot to the right of Göran Linquist. A.I.K.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A collision led to A.I.K. getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Torsten Ivarsson hit a great ball. Göran Linquist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vilgot Hjelm's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Roger Bergqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertil Wallman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Göran Linquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Åke Magnusson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Åke Månsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Göran Linquist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute Karl-Åke Magnusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Göran Linquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.I.K.'s Göran Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Eriksson in the 41st minute of play. Göran Linquist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karl-Åke Magnusson went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Åke Månsson's late challenge caught a A.I.K.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Åke Månsson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Svartsjön's Åke Månsson got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half FC Svartsjön were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonardo Eriksson was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Karl-Åke Magnusson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Göran Linquist. That made the score 0-4 in the 52 minute of play. After a rather tough play, A.I.K.'s Elliot Beckeman got a free kick in the 54th minute. When FC Svartsjön's Vilgot Hjelm in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.I.K.'s goalie prevented a goal. Göran Linquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vilgot Hjelm, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After some careless play in the A.I.K. defense, Vilgot Hjelm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Göran Linquist. The A.I.K. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Göran Linquist should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Karl-Åke Magnusson took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Göran Linquist to make any attempt to save it. When Karl-Åke Magnusson in the 77th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Göran Linquist kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-7 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. 83 minutes into the match, A.I.K.'s goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Åke Magnusson came free, but Göran Linquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Åke Magnusson in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Göran Linquist saved A.I.K. from getting behind. After having played for 86 minutes, Leonardo Eriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Svartsjön's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Eriksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Karl-Åke Magnusson came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the FC Svartsjön fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Åke Magnusson couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the game, FC Svartsjön's Leonardo Eriksson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Göran Linquist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. Alfons Engström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Göran Linquist made a huge save. FC Svartsjön played a much better game than A.I.K. and deserved their victory. The A.I.K. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
