With an extended leg and a bit of luck Magne Ahlberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Folke Bengtsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magne Ahlberg having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Magne Ahlberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Johnny Cash's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Magne Ahlberg was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Cash in the 41st minute of play forced Hille United's goalkeeper Magne Ahlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Vibblaby Vikings were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sven-Oskar Qvalfeldt to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Cash got free with Magne Ahlberg in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 58 played minutes Hille United got a freekick which was hit by Magnus Persson. Folke Bengtsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Magne Ahlberg could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Folke Bengtsson could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Magne Ahlberg however easily saved by the left post. Johnny Cash sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 66 minutes, Folke Bengtsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vibblaby Vikings's supporters crossed their fingers, but Folke Bengtsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Hille United booed when Vibblaby Vikings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Jansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute, Ingvar Jansson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 minutes, Jens-Ove Tingelholm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hille United and the Vibblaby Vikings players grew even worse after the yellow card. The long shot by Fulvio Galliani in the 78th minute really tested Magne Ahlberg's skills. Johnny Cash could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Magne Ahlberg made a huge save. In the 90th match minute, Hille United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Erik Månsson to maneuver through the defense. Magne Ahlberg was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Egil Vennerström. Folke Bengtsson struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Magne Ahlberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vibblaby Vikings. Ulf Smitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Oskar Qvalfeldt in the 96th minute of the match. The Vibblaby Vikings supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vibblaby Vikings would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
