The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Bollström in the 4th minute of play forced Vara RK's goalkeeper Staffan Dahlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Medellín Cartel's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Karl-Erik Engman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 10 played minutes Medellín Cartel got a freekick which was hit by John Bollström. After having played for 32 minutes, Karl-Erik Engman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vara RK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Erik Engman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Karl-Erik Engman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers George Forss in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustav Hagberg saved Medellín Cartel from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Karl-Erik Engman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vara RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Erik Engman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustav Hagberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Medellín Cartel's Gustav Hagberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Forss in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Karl-Erik Engman struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Gustav Hagberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vara RK. If George Forss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Medellín Cartel defense, Karl-Erik Engman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustav Hagberg. The Medellín Cartel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustav Hagberg should have stopped the shot. After 67 minutes, Karl-Erik Engman made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Medellín Cartel's Gustav Hagberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Karl-Erik Engman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustav Hagberg having to interfere. Sten Olofsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Staffan Dahlberg made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaf Mellberg could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Staffan Dahlberg however easily saved by the left post. If Karl-Erik Engman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Erik Engman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustav Hagberg having to interfere. If George Forss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Vara RK were the better team. Vara RK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
