After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Sonny Låsberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Köping RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Sonny Låsberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Biörkman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sommen's Gilbert Biörkman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Sommen from getting a goal against them. The Köping RK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sommen were winning 0-4.

The audience was convinced that Sonny Låsberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilbert Biörkman was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 80th minute, Anders Grubb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sonny Låsberg in the 85th minute of play forced Sommen's goalkeeper Gilbert Biörkman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Olof Brummer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Gilbert Biörkman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Köping RK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Kenny Wiman scored to the left of an out of position Elliot Bållström, making the score, 1-6. Elliot Bållström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Fernström in the 93rd minute of play.
