He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 18 minutes into the match, GaLNa TuRkAr's Stig Häll sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Birger Lundqvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Novens FK's Yngve Boberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mattias Bergman. That made the score 1-1 after 20 minutes of play. Novens FK's Birger Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vural Vuranoglu in the 23rd minute of play. Vural Vuranoglu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Birger Lundqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birger Lundqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vural Vuranoglu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of GaLNa TuRkAr booed when Novens FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart Sundén didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michel Barck kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Yngve Bobergs short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Mattias Bergman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Novens FK's Birger Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vural Vuranoglu in the 44th minute of play. With his leg Mattias Bergman managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Novens FK's Yngve Boberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 47 minutes into the game, Inge Söderberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GaLNa TuRkAr's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Novens FK the free kick. In the 48th minute, Inge Söderberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yngve Boberg was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes GaLNa TuRkAr got a freekick which was hit by Per-Olof Olofsson. After 59 played minutes GaLNa TuRkAr got a freekick which was hit by Vural Vuranoglu. Rune Ek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Bergman having to interfere. Yngve Boberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Per-Olof Olofsson came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the GaLNa TuRkAr fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per-Olof Olofsson couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stig Häll got free with Birger Lundqvist in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Novens FK's Birger Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Olof Olofsson in the 88th minute of play.
