Roger Sundberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joar Malm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Elliot Dahlquist. If Joakim Fanström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Björkkvist came free, but Roger Sundberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Leif Björkkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Sundberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lidingö IK's Börje Örtlund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Lidingö IK from getting a goal against them. Leif Björkkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joar Malm was the one to do the kick off. Joar Malm struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Roger Sundberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lidingö IK. Roger Sundberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. With his leg Roger Sundberg managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Lidingö IK's Joakim Fanström fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 84 minutes into the match, Lidingö IK's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Burman came free, but Börje Örtlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudolf Ekelund in the 86th minute of play forced Lidingö IK's goalkeeper Börje Örtlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
