In the 6th minute William Hedlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Östen Rang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alf Lövskog might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over John Bengtsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alf Lövskog ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henrik Åkesson during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Örebro United booed when åstorp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrik Åkesson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute of the match Niclas Duset sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but John Bengtsson skillfully saved the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Örebro United's goal looked a bit too open when Wilhelm Andersson came free, but Östen Rang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John Bengtsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Dobrin in the 31st minute of play forced åstorp's goalkeeper John Bengtsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Frank Lund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to åstorp getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Kim Lang hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the game, Felix Bruhn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilhelm Andersson to make the kick off. The åstorp fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John Bengtsson should have stopped the shot. Örebro United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niclas Duset in the 67th minute. After a rather tough play, åstorp's Kim Lang got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 77 minutes into the game, Örebro United's Jimmy Vollander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John Bengtsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. After 86 played minutes åstorp got a freekick which was hit by Wilhelm Andersson. Alf Lövskog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Bengtsson having to interfere. When Kim Lang fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored åstorp's protests and gave Kim Lang a yellow card for diving instead. After 92 played minutes åstorp got a freekick which was hit by Kim Lang. There was no doubt that Örebro United were the better team. Örebro United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
