The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zebastian Söder got free with Herbert Melin in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Gislaved BK booed when Syrianska FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reggie Hutchings didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herbert Melin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 7th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tony Benett. In the 8th minute Esbjörn Karlsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börge Grelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herbert Melin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elof Holmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The supporters of Syrianska FC booed when Gislaved BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon Löfgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th match minute, Gislaved BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Löfskog to maneuver through the defense. Gislaved BK's Zebastian Söder got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st of the match, Elof Holmgren tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Herbert Melin got in the way and made a wonderful save. If Sverker Nyberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Börge Grelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sverker Nyberg in the 26th minute of the match. Syrianska FC's Sverker Nyberg got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esbjörn Karlsson took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Börge Grelsson. Börge Grelsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Elof Holmgren made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Syrianska FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zebastian Söder came free, but Herbert Melin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Govert Jeronimus fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Syrianska FC's protests and gave Govert Jeronimus a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Govert Jeronimus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esbjörn Karlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börge Grelsson having to interfere. Syrianska FC's Herbert Melin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zebastian Söder in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Sverker Nyberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börge Grelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gislaved BK getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Alf Löfskog hit a great ball. Esbjörn Karlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börge Grelsson having to interfere. Elof Holmgren kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Malcolm Jonsson hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. When Esbjörn Karlsson came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Syrianska FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esbjörn Karlsson couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute Elof Holmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Melin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esbjörn Karlsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Börge Grelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 minutes, Malcolm Jonsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gislaved BK and the Syrianska FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Syrianska FC booed when Gislaved BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm Jonsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Syrianska FC were awarded a corner. Govert Jeronimus went to the cornerflag to take it. Syrianska FC's Govert Jeronimus was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Börge Grelsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Syrianska FC's Inge Alin got a free kick in the 95th minute. Syrianska FC played a much better game than Gislaved BK and deserved their victory. The Gislaved BK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
