Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jerrald Aguilo got the match started through his kick off. Åby's Jonatan Sjöberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerrald Aguilo in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the game, Jens-Erik Duset was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Åby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rögle BK the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Åby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens-Erik Duset to maneuver through the defense. Christian Lundström was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Freek Jeronimus capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Freek Jeronimus really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Wictor Svensson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Tostão de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Åby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute, Kaj Telin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonatan Sjöberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A collision led to Åby getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Sven-Olof Henriksson hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Raymond Nedregård got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Rögle BK getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Henning Söderman hit a great ball. When Tostão de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Åby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. When Åby's Wictor Svensson in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rögle BK's goalie prevented a goal. Jonatan Sjöberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerrald Aguilo went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. With his leg Christian Lundström managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Åby's Wictor Svensson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Rögle BK's Christian Lundström got control of the ball when Wictor Svensson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Åby's Tostão de Azevedo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Christian Lundström but with some difficulty. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Kaj Telin's late challenge caught a Åby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaj Telin helped the player get up and apologised. Tostão de Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tostão de Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 55th match minute, Åby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tostão de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Jonatan Sjöberg was a little too slow when Raymond Nedregård got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-3. When Åby's Wictor Svensson in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rögle BK's goalie prevented a goal. After 80 minutes, Sven-Olof Henriksson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Åby and the Rögle BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kaj Telin kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When Kaj Telin got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Rögle BK. Rögle BK's Henning Söderman got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the game, Jerrald Aguilo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Jonatan Sjöberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 92nd minute of the match, Raymond Nedregård tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonatan Sjöberg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rögle BK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
