Fengersfors's Henric Bergsten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Fengersfors from getting a goal against them. Pär Lööf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Lindqvist in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Fengersfors's goalkeeper Henric Bergsten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustav Klint. Leonardo Esbjörnsson's late challenge caught a Fengersfors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Västerlanda. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Örjan Åkerman during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Västerlanda fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Örjan Åkerman was shown his second yellow card after 32 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 45th minute, Jörgen Carlsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Conny Nordström made a kick off. Jörgen Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henric Bergsten having to interfere. Pelle Möllgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fengersfors's Henric Bergsten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörgen Carlsson in the 57th minute of play. If Pelle Möllgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egil Åhlberg hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. If Jörgen Carlsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
