Mattias Ahlstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Hansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mattias Ahlstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Hansson in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Hansson in the 12th minute of play forced Luleå Kamraterna's goalkeeper Mattias Ahlstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 13 minutes into the game, when Bernt Eliasson put in a rough tackle. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Luleå Kamraterna! Beltxe Paris walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 17th minute Roger Hansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Ahlstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24thth minute of the game Jarl Waller who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.S.ROMA's Stig-Åke Magnusson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.S.ROMA's zone, Gösta Vallengren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luleå Kamraterna's Mattias Ahlstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Hansson in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the A.S.ROMA defense, Jarl Waller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stig-Åke Magnusson. The A.S.ROMA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stig-Åke Magnusson should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute, Roger Hansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.S.ROMA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The referee ignored Luleå Kamraterna's protests and gave Algot Melberg a yellow card for diving instead. Stig-Åke Magnusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Algot Melberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The A.S.ROMA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing A.S.ROMA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
