The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alexander Hansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magnus Busk having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Väja's zone, Alexander Hansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magnus Busk came out of the goal and Alexander Hansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Torgny Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Magnus Busk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Hansson in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hubert Josefsson in the 12th minute of play forced Väja's goalkeeper Magnus Busk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Hermansson in the 20th minute of play forced Väja's goalkeeper Magnus Busk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magnus Busk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hubert Josefsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Magnus Busk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hubert Josefsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Väja's Mikael Söderqvist in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Åkarp IF's goalie prevented a goal. Hubert Josefsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Väja getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Joacim Lindholm hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Hubert Josefsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magnus Busk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Mikael Söderqvist made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hubert Josefsson got free with Magnus Busk in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vilgot Sundling kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Hubert Josefsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magnus Busk having to interfere. If Alexander Hansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute Alexander Hansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magnus Busk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Mikael Söderqvist notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Åkarp IF's Birger Vinström. Birger Vinström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute, Väja's Mattias Ånger seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mattias Ånger the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Väja protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mattias Ånger had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 72nd minute, one of Väja:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Väja. After 79 played minutes Väja got a freekick which was hit by Per Pihlblad. Vilgot Sundling charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vilgot Sundling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Väja defense, Hubert Josefsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Magnus Busk. The Väja fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Magnus Busk should have stopped the shot. A hard shot by Lennart Galle from long distance, 97 minutes into the match, got Magnus Busk's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
