Spectators: 6641 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 0) Jan Norström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tony Siöberg went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Tord Ödman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Fagrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Jan Norström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Siöberg in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to Sälen RK getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ingvar Persson hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Tony Siöberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sälen RK's goalkeeper Jan Norström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Fagrell in the 16th minute of play forced Sälen RK's goalkeeper Jan Norström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Sälen RK defense, Tony Siöberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan Norström. The Sälen RK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan Norström should have stopped the shot. After having played for 21 minutes, Roger Lidman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sälen RK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Lidman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Sälen RK defense, Tony Siöberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan Norström. The Sälen RK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan Norström should have stopped the shot. Tony Siöberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Ingvar Persson in the 38th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Kalmar FF's Ted Lundqvist. 39 minutes into the match, Michel Fagrell notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Sälen RK's Jan Norström. Jan Norström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Torsten Skoglund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Norström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Fagrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Torsten Skoglund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Marinos Kapelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Torsten Skoglund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sälen RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Torsten Skoglund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marinos Kapelis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Kalmar FF's zone, Torsten Skoglund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marinos Kapelis came out of the goal and Torsten Skoglund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Kalmar FF getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Thor Alströmer hit a great ball. Sälen RK's Joachim Wahlström couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kalmar FF. With a little luck, Sälen RK's Jan Norström got control of the ball when Tony Siöberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Torsten Skoglund fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sälen RK's protests and gave Torsten Skoglund a yellow card for diving instead. Olov Ahlström kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. When the match was over Kalmar FF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sälen RK throughout the match.
