Fagersta's Tomas Brun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Sjöberg in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Östhammar FK booed when Fagersta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Bolin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Östhammar FK's Nils-Åke Wiklund pulled a muscle in his leg after 22 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 22 minutes into the game, Peter Danielsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fagersta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Östhammar FK the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernt Sjöberg in the 26th minute of play forced Fagersta's goalkeeper Tomas Brun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jesper Åkesson in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomas Brun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 32 minutes, Bernt Sjöberg made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Fagersta's Tomas Brun tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Brun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesper Åkesson in the 41st minute of play. Tomas Brun came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Östhammar FK's Bernt Sjöberg. But to his dismay, Bernt Sjöberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Tomas Brun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernt Sjöberg went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gunnar Karlstedt to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gunnar Karlstedt in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustav Igelström saved Östhammar FK from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Östhammar FK's Jesper Åkesson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tomas Brun. That made the score 1-5 after 57 minutes of play. If Jesper Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Östhammar FK's Bernt Sjöberg suffered a torn muscle in his foot after 61 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Stellan Fredriksson kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Stig-Åke Hagberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute, Östhammar FK's Jesper Åkesson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomas Brun. Tomas Brun yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. Bror Boberg charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bror Boberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd match minute, Östhammar FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bror Boberg to maneuver through the defense. Stig-Åke Hagberg came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tomas Brun could save by the left post. Tomas Brun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesper Åkesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Tomas Brun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesper Åkesson in the 80th minute of the match. Gustav Igelström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Karlstedt in the 81st minute of the match. A collision led to Östhammar FK getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Erik Busk hit a great ball. Ivar Carlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Tomas Brun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stig-Åke Hagberg got free with Tomas Brun in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Jesper Åkesson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tomas Brun. That made the score 1-8 in the 91 minute of play. Ivar Carlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Brun having to interfere. When the match was over Östhammar FK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Fagersta throughout the match.
