The referee ignored Hammarby IF's protests and gave Anthon Svensson a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthon Wallengren in the 21st minute of play forced Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Bo Mossberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vilhelm Kling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthon Svensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Anthon Wallengren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anthon Svensson to strike the kick off in the second half. Anthon Wallengren took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bo Mossberg. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Erling Bern had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bo Mossberg. Hammarby IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erling Bern was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Bo Mossberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthon Wallengren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Per Tomasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hammarby IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ytterby IK the free kick. The supporters of Ytterby IK booed when Hammarby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per Tomasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hammarby IF's zone, Anthon Wallengren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bo Mossberg came out of the goal and Anthon Wallengren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anthon Wallengren took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bo Mossberg. Bo Mossberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Ytterby IK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
