Spectators: 7237 (Terracing: 5429, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 144) IFK Katrineholm's Elmer Lidastein started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elmer Lidasteins short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Otto Fors to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Otto Fors managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when IFK Katrineholm's Elmer Lidastein fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Otto Fors stood somewhat misplaced when Andreas Jansson came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 11 minute. Elmer Lidasteins short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Otto Fors to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Elmer Lidastein could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Otto Fors made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andreas Jansson in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otto Fors prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elmer Lidastein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Otto Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Craig Jones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Ekeberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Kennet Öberg came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Mölltorp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kennet Öberg couldn't finish the play. In the last second Otto Fors throw himself and got hold of the ball when Andreas Jansson in the 42ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 44th minute, Kennet Öberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kennet Öberg was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, IFK Katrineholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Jansson to maneuver through the defense. Mölltorp's Otto Fors played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Jansson in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Katrineholm's zone, Douglas Ekeberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Craig Jones came out of the goal and Douglas Ekeberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kennet Öberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Craig Jones read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Stig Forsell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Craig Jones tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Mölltorp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Erik Söderman to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the game, IFK Katrineholm's Andreas Jansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Otto Fors made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 76th minute Andreas Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Fors saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elmer Lidastein in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otto Fors prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elmer Lidastein in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Otto Fors saved Mölltorp from getting behind. Kennet Öberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the IFK Katrineholm players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
