Claes Käller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquilino Etxekopar in the 26th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Aquilino Etxekopar sped through Bergby's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Claes Käller. A collision led to Bergby getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Harry Melin hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Göran Ekenberg made a precise shot to the right of Gunnar Melander. Grillby FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 44th minute, Aquilino Etxekopar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Göran Ekenberg made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Bergby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Dahlbom to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, Aquilino Etxekopar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Claes Käller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gunnar Melander made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Stig-Åke Strömberg sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Stig-Åke Strömberg could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Gunnar Melander however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Bergby's zone, Helge Kvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claes Käller came out of the goal and Helge Kvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claes Käller stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aquilino Etxekopar's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. If Göran Ekenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquilino Etxekopar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
