The supporters of Hammenhög booed when Vänersborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Göran Österlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sigvard Hagström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sören Lundin in the 78th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Göran Österlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vänersborg's supporters rose to their feet, but Göran Österlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Casado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
