In the 16th minute, Lennart Ström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl-Axel Pettersson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Karl-Axel Pettersson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jens Andberg's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Lennart Ström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 29 minutes, Fritz Gullesson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stenungsund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fritz Gullesson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wictor Nordström made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Tommy Löfkvist sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Staveström BK booed when Stenungsund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Kjellkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerry Ugla took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wictor Nordström. Stenungsund's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustaf Pettersson during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gustaf Pettersson kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Staveström BK's Wictor Nordström threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from William Lindberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If William Lindberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Karl-Axel Pettersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fritz Gullesson in the 54th minute. Karl-Axel Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Ström, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Fritz Gullesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Axel Pettersson having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Staveström BK got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Stenquist. After some careless play in the Staveström BK defense, Fritz Gullesson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Axel Pettersson. The Staveström BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Axel Pettersson should have stopped the shot. Tommy Löfkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stenungsund's Wictor Nordström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Lindberg in the 71st minute of play. Fritz Gullesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Karl-Axel Pettersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Axel Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Ström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Stenungsund booed when Staveström BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Stenquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Lennart Ström took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Karl-Axel Pettersson to make any attempt to save it. Lennart Ström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle sounded Stenungsund left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Staveström BK.
