Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Karl-Michael Hellström got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd minute Ronny Hellbom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Brandin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blue Saints's Matthias Brandin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Hellbom in the 4th minute of play. Sigvard Andersson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Östen Blom went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Ruda getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Kim Kjellkvist hit a great ball. Matthias Brandin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ove Berglund in the 11th minute. Fabian Holmgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sigvard Andersson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Ove Berglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Brandin having to interfere. Vidar Jönsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Brandin having to interfere. Sigvard Andersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Michael Hellström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matthias Brandin was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Ove Berglund capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ove Berglund really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After 29 played minutes Jack Mogren rounded Blue Saints's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Matthias Brandin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Mogren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ruda's zone, Karl-Michael Hellström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sigvard Andersson came out of the goal and Karl-Michael Hellström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the game, Kim Kjellkvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ruda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blue Saints the free kick. In the 36th match minute, Ruda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kim Kjellkvist to maneuver through the defense. Sigvard Andersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Vallmark, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 40 played minutes Blue Saints got a freekick which was hit by Pelle Löfkvist. After a rather tough play, Blue Saints's Reine Jansson got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Andy Dahlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ruda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Dahlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matthias Brandin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vidar Jönsson in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jack Mogren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Blue Saints's Matthias Brandin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Hellbom in the 53rd minute of play. Karl-Michael Hellström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sigvard Andersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blue Saints's Pelle Löfkvist shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 63rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sigvard Andersson but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Mogren in the 64th minute of play forced Blue Saints's goalkeeper Matthias Brandin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Vallmark recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matthias Brandin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Berglund in the 70th minute of play. Matthias Brandin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vidar Jönsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Michael Hellström in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sigvard Andersson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ronny Hellbom kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Blue Saints's Karl-Michael Hellström slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sigvard Andersson. That made the score 2-2 after 80 minutes of play. Matthias Brandin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Hellbom in the 88th minute of play.
