After having played for 12 minutes, Hugo Lönn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ås IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Lönn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Georg Ahlrot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 minutes, Michel Bokelund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ås IFK and the Linköping players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hugo Lönn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 33 minutes into the match, Ås IFK's goalkeeper Eric Skålberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomas Melander. In the 36th match minute, Linköping was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Valrot to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Lönn scored 0-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sivert Eriksson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georg Ahlrot in the 46th minute of play forced Linköping's goalkeeper Sivert Eriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Skålberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Wiberg in the 48th minute of the match.

Eric Skålberg came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Linköping's Knut Wiberg. But to his dismay, Knut Wiberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Linköping's Thomas Melander got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Ås IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Knut Wiberg came free, but Eric Skålberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bror Thedin hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Sivert Eriksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Georg Ahlrot in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute Knut Wiberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Skålberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ås IFK's Helge Söderman shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 72nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sivert Eriksson but with some difficulty. A collision led to Linköping getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Knut Wiberg hit a great ball. Georg Ahlrot scored 1-3 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sivert Eriksson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Lönn in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sivert Eriksson saved Linköping from getting behind. When Robin Hult fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Linköping's protests and gave Robin Hult a yellow card for diving instead. Hugo Lönn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sivert Eriksson having to interfere. Valdemar Valrot hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The Linköping fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ås IFK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
