The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan Näver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patric Falkrantz in the 7th minute of the match. After 8 played minutes Nygård IK got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Axel Tunberg. In the 13th minute of the match, Jan Jespersson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Svante Lönn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 26th minute Jan Jespersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Svante Lönn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jan Jespersson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Svante Lönn was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Nygård IK's Svante Lönn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Nygård IK from getting a goal against them. In the 47th match minute, Tryfflarna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Jespersson to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patric Falkrantz was the one to do the kick off. Dan Skålberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jan Näver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oliver Martinsson hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Gustav Björkkvist was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 59th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The Tryfflarna fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Tryfflarna's Jens-Ove Västerberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 79 minutes into the game, Jens-Ove Västerberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Axel Tunberg during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Nygård IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Axel Tunberg to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens-Ove Västerberg in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Svante Lönn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the Nygård IK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tryfflarna.
