Daniel Samuelsson had several of the Eskilstuna BK's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 7 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Pontus Örtlund as he didn't even see the shot coming. Pontus Örtlund made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Alfred Forsell sent off a good shot on target. Claes Malmgren took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pontus Örtlund. Eskilstuna BK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Alfred Forsell came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Palm BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Forsell couldn't finish the play. Daniel Samuelsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pontus Örtlund having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Palm BK's Alfred Forsell got a free kick in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tor Finsberg in the 32nd minute of play forced Palm BK's goalkeeper Lars-Erik Apelkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tor Finsberg's late challenge caught a Palm BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tor Finsberg helped the player get up and apologised. Eskilstuna BK's Pontus Örtlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Samuelsson in the 37th minute of play. Lars-Erik Apelkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tor Finsberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Samuelsson in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pontus Örtlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Kjell Lönn kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. If Daniel Samuelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Ulf Sikström took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Lars-Erik Apelkvist to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Palm BK booed when Eskilstuna BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folke Åberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
