With an all-out effort, Norbergs BK's Petter Allbom threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mårten Hermansson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lennart Henriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Bremming, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had been going on for 87 minutes, Norbergs BK's Ralf Hamnberg got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Petter Allbom. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mark Viklund got free with Petter Allbom in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Mårten Hermansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petter Allbom was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Norbergs BK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
