The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Lars Bjursell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the match, Vittsjö's goal looked a bit too open when Greger Sjödin came free, but Dan Rosén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dan Rosén showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greger Sjödin, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Göran Vollander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Rosén having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Ernst Thedin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vittsjö's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ersmark the free kick. The supporters of Ersmark booed when Vittsjö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernst Thedin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Greger Sjödin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Rosén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Göran Vollander notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Vittsjö's Dan Rosén. Dan Rosén was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 31st minute, Niclas Örtendahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Ersmark's Maximilian Samuelsson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Ersmark's Uno Biörkman got a free kick in the 41st minute. Vittsjö's Peter Heggert got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 minutes, Lars Bjursell made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ersmark's Viggo Larsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peter Heggert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jens-Ove Eliasson hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Vittsjö's Lars Bjursell was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 55th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a rather tough play, Vittsjö's Leo Hedlund got a free kick in the 67th minute. Ernst Thedin kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Niclas Örtendahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Maximilian Samuelsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Vittsjö's Dan Rosén didn't even have to move. Jens-Erik Anselius's late challenge caught a Ersmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens-Erik Anselius helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute of the match Jens-Ove Eliasson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Rosén showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvar Siggesson during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Ersmark's Greger Sjödin in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vittsjö's goalie prevented a goal. Viggo Larsson came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Vittsjö's Lars Bjursell. But to his dismay, Lars Bjursell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3.
