Bo Colin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Eckegren having to interfere. Einar Sjögren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roy Sjö in the 16th minute. Alvar Fernström took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulf Eckegren. Ulf Eckegren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Roy Sjö managed to get in a good position for a shot. Björköby's supporters rose to their feet, but Roy Sjö was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Einar Sjögren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 27 minutes into the match, Björköby's goal looked a bit too open when Alvar Fernström came free, but Ulf Eckegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when John Lövgren in the 29th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Björköby's Ulf Eckegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvar Fernström in the 31st minute of play. John Lövgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ulf Eckegren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Björköby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esbjörn Söderberg to maneuver through the defense. John Lövgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulf Eckegren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Björköby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Clementsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John Lövgren made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Årby FC's zone, Helge Käller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Einar Sjögren came out of the goal and Helge Käller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulf Eckegren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Lövgren in the 55th minute of the match. Björköby's Ulf Eckegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Lövgren in the 60th minute of play. Alvar Fernström's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Ulf Eckegren skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 63 minutes into the match, Björköby's goalkeeper Ulf Eckegren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvar Fernström. In the 65th match minute, Björköby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils Dalgren to maneuver through the defense.
