Alvar Fernström came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hans Axelsson could save by the left post. Casper Fagerberg charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Casper Fagerberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Casper Fagerberg kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. If Freddie Vidman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Alvar Fernström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Greger Lindström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Einar Sjögren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Årby FC got a freekick which was hit by Bo Colin. Freddie Vidman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. John Lövgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Axelsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvar Fernström in the 35th minute. After 39 played minutes Mönsterås FK got a freekick which was hit by Einar Simonsson. Peter Bank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Einar Sjögren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greger Lindström in the 46th minute of play forced Årby FC's goalkeeper Einar Sjögren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Freddie Vidman to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Greger Lindström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mönsterås FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greger Lindström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mönsterås FK's Hans Axelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Lövgren in the 57th minute of play. John Lövgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mönsterås FK's zone, Alvar Fernström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Axelsson came out of the goal and Alvar Fernström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If John Lövgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hans Axelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvar Fernström in the 80th minute of the match. After 82 played minutes Mönsterås FK got a freekick which was hit by Per Gustavsson. After 84 minutes of play, Årby FC's John Lövgren made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hans Axelsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! 93 minutes into the match, Årby FC's goal looked a bit too open when Greger Lindström came free, but Einar Sjögren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Greger Lindström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
