The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stellan Lång during the 2nd minute. Målles Mål's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IFK Ducks the free kick. Karl-Erik Boström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Albohm, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Målles Mål's goal looked a bit too open when Sixten Isaksson came free, but Karl-Erik Boström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl-Johan Backlund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roger Vennerdal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, IFK Ducks's Sixten Isaksson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Erik Boström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of IFK Ducks booed when Målles Mål was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stellan Lång didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger Vennerdal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jens-Åke Barck in the 35th minute. Roger Vennerdal acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 37th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Oliver Ekeroth. In the 40th match minute, IFK Ducks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sixten Isaksson to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind IFK Ducks's goalkeeper Roger Vennerdal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roger Vennerdal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Börje Ahlén went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Målles Mål getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Börje Ahlén hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens-Åke Barck in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roger Vennerdal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adam Pihlgren kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes Målles Mål got a freekick which was hit by Ivar Blomquist. 62 minutes into the match, IFK Ducks's goal looked a bit too open when Börje Ahlén came free, but Roger Vennerdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roger Vennerdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Ahlén, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Målles Mål's Jens-Åke Barck got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Börje Ahlén scored 3-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roger Vennerdal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 74th minute, Karl-Johan Backlund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Målles Mål fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. If Karl-Johan Backlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Johan Backlund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Karl-Johan Backlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Målles Mål's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Johan Backlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Vennerdal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl-Johan Backlund might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roger Vennerdal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karl-Johan Backlund ran back to his position shaking his head. 94 minutes into the match, Målles Mål's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Boström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sixten Isaksson. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Målles Mål fully deserved thier win.
