Värnamo's Henric Walroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Rosendal in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Douglas Rosendal in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henric Walroth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Henric Walroth managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Rossoneri's Douglas Rosendal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Kennet Lind had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kalle Eklund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Henric Walroth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Kennet Lind managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rossoneri's supporters rose to their feet, but Kennet Lind was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henric Walroth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute Douglas Rosendal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henric Walroth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Bertil Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald Örtendahl in the 65th minute of play. In the 74th minute, Douglas Rosendal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Carl Barck fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Värnamo's protests and gave Carl Barck a yellow card for diving instead. Carl Barck kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Kennet Lind fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henric Walroth having to interfere. Henric Walroth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Rosendal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Värnamo were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Rossoneri's much stronger midfield.
