Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bengt-Arne Sundén kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute Bengt-Arne Sundén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Malm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. One of Överhörnäs BK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Södra Sunderbyn:s goal. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Södra Sunderbyn. Patrik Törnblom stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aron Jonsson. 0-1. Nils Spets might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aron Jonsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nils Spets ran back to his position shaking his head. Överhörnäs BK's Aron Jonsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils Spets in the 30th minute of play. Nils Spets struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Aron Jonsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Södra Sunderbyn. Aron Jonsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nils Spets's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. The supporters of Södra Sunderbyn booed when Överhörnäs BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egon Jonasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aron Jonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pelle Åberg in the 42nd minute of play. After the first half Södra Sunderbyn were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Birger Högman fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Södra Sunderbyn's protests and gave Birger Högman a yellow card for diving instead. Södra Sunderbyn's Nils Spets got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Södra Sunderbyn's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
