The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abdi Abdi struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Greger Esbjörnsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westra Aros FC. After some careless play in the FC Barcelona defense, Abdi Abdi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Greger Esbjörnsson. The FC Barcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Greger Esbjörnsson should have stopped the shot. After 12 played minutes Westra Aros FC got a freekick which was hit by Tom Norberg. With a little luck, Westra Aros FC's Magnus Wester got control of the ball when Ludvig Lind tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Abdi Abdi sped through FC Barcelona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Greger Esbjörnsson. After 21 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Karl Ahlqvist. Greger Esbjörnsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdi Abdi's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 26th minute, Jack Täman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Westra Aros FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Abdi Abdi scored 0-4 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Greger Esbjörnsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Abdi Abdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Westra Aros FC's Abdi Abdi got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mats Billing to strike the kick off in the second half. Karl Ahlqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl Ahlqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Abdi Abdi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Greger Esbjörnsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dennis Andberg's late challenge caught a Westra Aros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dennis Andberg helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdi Abdi in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Greger Esbjörnsson saved FC Barcelona from getting behind. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Mats Billing hit a great ball. Dennis Andberg was shown his second yellow card after 66 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Dennis Andberg kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Westra Aros FC's Folke Fransson made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Greger Esbjörnsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Abdi Abdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abdi Abdis short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Greger Esbjörnsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jens-Erik Mogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greger Esbjörnsson having to interfere. When Abdi Abdi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 86 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Greger Esbjörnsson was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Abdi Abdi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Krister Flinck hit a great ball. Greger Esbjörnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Lunde, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Greger Esbjörnsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abdi Abdi in the 96th minute. Westra Aros FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
