The supporters of QPR booed when Noraström was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Askstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. QPR's Kasper Örnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Askstedt in the 17th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Sune Granström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Noraström's supporters rose to their feet, but Sune Granström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kasper Örnberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 21 minutes, Johan Askstedt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Noraström and the QPR players grew even worse after the yellow card. Noraström's Jan Nyström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Kvarnström in the 28th minute of play. QPR's Torgny Höijer got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Noraström's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Björn Kvarnström scored to the left of an out of position Jan Nyström, making the score, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Björn Kvarnström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Björn Kvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Nyström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Björn Kvarnström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Nyström having to interfere. A collision led to Noraström getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Johan Askstedt hit a great ball. QPR's Björn Kvarnström got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Torgny Höijer came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the QPR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torgny Höijer couldn't finish the play. In the 64th match minute, QPR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lennart Dahlqvist to maneuver through the defense. Jan Nyström came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by QPR's Björn Kvarnström. But to his dismay, Björn Kvarnström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Jan Nyström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Björn Kvarnström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingvar Vacker during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Noraström's Ingvar Vacker got a free kick in the 75th minute. Kasper Örnberg made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Sune Granström sent off a good shot on target. QPR's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
