Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Christer Sundberg started the match with the kick off. If Tom Häger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Vetlanda's Simon Felin got a free kick in the 13th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Lingbo's Sven-Åke Bergkvist tried to score from far away in the 13th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Sune Hedlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jörgen Söderström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vetlanda's Jörgen Söderström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christer Sundberg in the 17th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christer Sundberg in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jörgen Söderström saved Vetlanda from getting behind. In the 22nd minute, Vetlanda's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sune Hedlund fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 24 played minutes Lingbo got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Bröms. If Jan-Erik Bergström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Lingbo getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Sven-Ove Klint hit a great ball. The supporters of Vetlanda booed when Lingbo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Giliusson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jan-Erik Bergström came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Vetlanda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Erik Bergström couldn't finish the play. Jens-Ola Käcker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Häger in the 41st minute of play. Fred Giliusson charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fred Giliusson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 42 played minutes Lingbo got a freekick which was hit by Fred Giliusson. Sune Hedlund was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 47th minute, Christer Sundberg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jörgen Söderström, passed just outside the right post.

In the 55th minute, one of Lingbo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lingbo. When the match had been going on for 57 minutes, Vetlanda's Marcus Danielsson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jens-Ola Käcker. Lingbo's Jens-Ola Käcker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Lingbo from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute Sune Hedlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörgen Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Lingbo's goalkeeper Jens-Ola Käcker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan-Erik Bergström. Jan-Erik Bergström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Erik Bergström couldn't finish the play. Vetlanda's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
