In the 9th minute of the match Per Bogren sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jim Bennet skillfully saved the ball. Richard Wahlnäs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Jim Bennet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Richard Wahlnäs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Årsta IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Wahlnäs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Bennet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olov Almstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Strömberg having to interfere. The supporters of Iggesund IF booed when Årsta IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Ove Zachrisson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute, Sebastian Lööf sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Årsta IF's Sten Strömberg didn't even have to move. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Iggesund IF had played much better football throughout.
