Lars Modig didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vallsta. Vilhelm Alrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patric Hjeltman in the 9th minute of play. If Patric Hjeltman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jonas Gabrielsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lars Modig was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, John Levander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vallsta's supporters rose to their feet, but John Levander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lars Modig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lars Modig made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when John Levander sent off a good shot on target. Jonas Gabrielsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Älvsered IFK's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jonas Gabrielsson 23 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 26th play minute John Levander came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lars Modig. 2-0. Jonas Gabrielsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Lars Modig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vilhelm Alrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Jespersson in the 34th minute of the match. Gert Sefastsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilhelm Alrot having to interfere. When Älvsered IFK's Gert Sefastsson in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vallsta's goalie prevented a goal. Vilhelm Alrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gert Sefastsson in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonas Gabrielsson made a kick off. Gert Sefastsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Vilhelm Alrot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vilhelm Alrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Sefastsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 68 minutes into the match, Älvsered IFK's goal looked a bit too open when John Levander came free, but Lars Modig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Modig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Levander in the 75th minute of play. Karl-Magnus Lind hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Älvsered IFK's Lars Modig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Levander in the 79th minute of play. In the 79th match minute, Älvsered IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henning Jespersson to maneuver through the defense. If Gert Sefastsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Vallsta booed when Älvsered IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Sefastsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jörn Spets took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lars Modig. Älvsered IFK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Jonas Gabrielsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vallsta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Gabrielsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, John Levander had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lars Modig. Älvsered IFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Levander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Älvsered IFK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
