Sparta Sport & Fotboll's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrik Asserlindh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th match minute, Sparta Sport & Fotboll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conny Kielstedt to maneuver through the defense. Olle Drewitz hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Tom Anselius, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Hammerfall IF's Stig Thorsberg got a free kick in the 25th minute. Olle Drewitz hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Patrik Asserlindh dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Christian Dalman, 1-0. Anders Ugla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patrik Asserlindh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Hammerfall IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evert Gustavsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute of the match Tom Anselius sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Dalman skillfully saved the ball. Christian Dalman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrik Asserlindh, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig Thorsberg in the 77th minute of play forced Sparta Sport & Fotboll's goalkeeper Aleksander Smedfeldt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 played minutes Sparta Sport & Fotboll got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Lindgren. Anders Ugla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 82 minutes, Anders Ugla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When Patrik Asserlindh came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Sparta Sport & Fotboll fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrik Asserlindh couldn't finish the play. After recieving a nice pass, Sparta Sport & Fotboll's Tom Anselius tried to score from far away in the 93rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Sparta Sport & Fotboll's Anders Ugla got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sparta Sport & Fotboll were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Hammerfall IF for a fine match.
