Christopher Ahlquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kåre Ahlqvist came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Guldsmedshyttan's Karl-Axel Bohlin. But to his dismay, Karl-Axel Bohlin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 16 minutes, Christopher Ahlquist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guldsmedshyttan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christopher Ahlquist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per Västerberg in the 21st minute of play forced Guldsmedshyttan's goalkeeper Stefan Ljungberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Karl-Axel Bohlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christopher Ahlquist struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Kåre Ahlqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guldsmedshyttan. 36 minutes into the match, Skagersvik's goal looked a bit too open when Christopher Ahlquist came free, but Kåre Ahlqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Guldsmedshyttan booed when Skagersvik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulrik Lindqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christopher Ahlquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kåre Ahlqvist having to interfere. Christopher Ahlquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Stefan Ljungberg came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Skagersvik's Lars Billström. But to his dismay, Lars Billström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Hägert made a kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Kristoffer Larsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guldsmedshyttan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skagersvik the free kick. After 57 played minutes Guldsmedshyttan got a freekick which was hit by Kristoffer Larsson. If Lars Billström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guldsmedshyttan's Stefan Ljungberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Billström in the 65th minute of play. Stefan Ljungberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Billström, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Axel Bohlin in the 78th minute of play forced Skagersvik's goalkeeper Kåre Ahlqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Karl-Axel Bohlin came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Guldsmedshyttan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Axel Bohlin couldn't finish the play. Lars Billström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Lars Billström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Billström in the 91st minute of play forced Guldsmedshyttan's goalkeeper Stefan Ljungberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Karl-Axel Bohlin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guldsmedshyttan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Axel Bohlin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guldsmedshyttan's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
