Fredric Lindell was a little too slow when Bengt-Arne Åkerström got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Ekerö IF's goal looked a bit too open when Yngve Berggren came free, but Lennart Rydberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Bengt-Arne Åkerström fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fredric Lindell, passed just outside the right post. Lennart Rydberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yngve Berggren in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Ingvar Näver was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ekerö IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Torup the free kick. In the 29th match minute, Ekerö IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingvar Näver to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ekerö IF's zone, Yngve Berggren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lennart Rydberg came out of the goal and Yngve Berggren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 39 played minutes Ekerö IF got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Näver. Fredric Lindell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Åkerström, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. When Nils-Erik Blomqvist came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Ekerö IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils-Erik Blomqvist couldn't finish the play. Agne Westerberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fredric Lindell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agne Westerberg ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Torup booed when Ekerö IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niklas Hansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bengt-Arne Åkerström to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Bengt-Arne Åkerström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredric Lindell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Yngve Berggren reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lennart Rydberg. The goal made the score 1-1. Christoffer Sundberg hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute, Nils-Erik Blomqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ekerö IF's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Yngve Berggren 68 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. 76 minutes into the match, Yngve Berggren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lennart Rydberg, 1-3. Bengt-Arne Åkerström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Lindell having to interfere. Torup's Fredric Lindell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils-Erik Blomqvist in the 82nd minute of play. Nils-Erik Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fredric Lindell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt-Arne Åkerström in the 85th minute of the match. Fred Söderberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Rydberg having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Torup's Yngve Berggren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lennart Rydberg. That made the score 1-4 after 94 minutes of play.
