IFK Göteborg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Matthias Hansson scored to the left of an out of position Stig-Åke Eckegren, making the score, 1-0. Bror Magnusson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Stig-Åke Eckegren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Johansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anton Möller read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Stig-Åke Eckegren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roy Uggstedt in the 12th minute. Stig-Åke Eckegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malcolm Bjursell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stig-Åke Eckegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Bjursell, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. If Roy Uggstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Malcolm Bjursell made a kick off. When Millwall's Roy Uggstedt in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Richard Johansson kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When Bror Magnusson came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Millwall fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bror Magnusson couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Millwall had played much better football throughout.
