Kjell Rosén might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lennart Eckegren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kjell Rosén ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 6th match minute, Real Täby IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Börje Bergström to maneuver through the defense. When Jan Eliasson fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Holmön IF's protests and gave Jan Eliasson a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Göran Granberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Holmön IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Göran Granberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Eckegren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd match minute, Real Täby IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Börje Bergström to maneuver through the defense. Kjell Rosén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kjell Rosén's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lennart Eckegren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Göran Granberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Eckegren having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Real Täby IK's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Rosén came free, but Lennart Eckegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joakim Levander was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Real Täby IK's zone, Göran Granberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lennart Eckegren came out of the goal and Göran Granberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bertil Gustafsson got free with Kevin Nordström in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the match, Holmön IF's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Levander came free, but Kevin Nordström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bertil Gustafsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kevin Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joakim Levander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Göran Granberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Lennart Eckegren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
