Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Yngve Gummeson kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Ove Malmström in the 3rd minute of play forced Skeppshult IFK's goalkeeper Elias Alkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Fribäck was a little too slow when Bernt Browald got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 1-0. Bernt Browald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Alström hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Mats Fribäck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl-Michael Sandström in the 19th minute. Yngve Gummeson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Alkvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute of the match, Bernt Browald tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mats Fribäck saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Elias Alkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yngve Gummeson, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The attack was good, but when Jan-Ove Malmström in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Karl-Michael Sandström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Michael Sandström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Fribäck having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernt Browald stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Karl-Michael Sandström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernt Browald in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mats Fribäck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 64 minutes, Karl-Michael Sandström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skeppshult IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Michael Sandström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mats Fribäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Michael Sandström, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Karl-Michael Sandström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mats Fribäck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernt Browald in the 70th minute of the match. The Skeppshult IFK fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Skeppshult IFK's Bernt Browald looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Skeppshult IFK's Sebastian Fredriksson got a free kick in the 76th minute. Yngve Gummeson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Alkvist having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Dick Fransson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Skeppshult IFK's Karl-Michael Sandström got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Skeppshult IFK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Syrianska FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
