Arman Kihlman made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Bengt-Åke Ekerot sent off a good shot on target. In the 8th minute Joakim Levander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arman Kihlman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Real Täby IK's Lennart Eckegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börge Felin in the 9th minute of play. Tommy Ahlquist charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommy Ahlquist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Joakim Levander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 played minutes Real Täby IK got a freekick which was hit by Dan Josefsson. Bertil Gustafsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Arman Kihlman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lennart Eckegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krister Sundén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Lagans AIK booed when Real Täby IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörn Örtendal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Börge Felin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lennart Eckegren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arman Kihlman was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joakim Levander showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 31 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Börge Felin in the 39th minute of play forced Real Täby IK's goalkeeper Lennart Eckegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Joakim Levander kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arman Kihlman. That made the score 3-1 in the 48 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joakim Levander made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Börge Felin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagans AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börge Felin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bengt-Åke Ekerot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Arman Kihlman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arman Kihlman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joakim Levander's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. If Börge Felin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Krister Sundén scored 3-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lennart Eckegren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Krister Sundén managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lagans AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Krister Sundén was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Eckegren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lennart Eckegren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Börge Felin in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the match, Börge Felin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lennart Eckegren saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Lagans AIK's Krister Sundén got a free kick in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Krister Sundén managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lagans AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Krister Sundén was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Eckegren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 90 minutes into the match, Real Täby IK's Bertil Gustafsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arman Kihlman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Lagans AIK booed when Real Täby IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Bergström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 98 minutes Real Täby IK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Krister Hedvall who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Krister Hedvall got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lennart Eckegren quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Real Täby IK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lagans AIK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
