Spectators: 7289 (Terracing: 5469, Seating: 1676, VIP seats: 144) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sune Åkerström took the kick off in the first half of the match. Conny Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, BK Stolpskott's Conny Lövgren got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute Sven-Ove Blanck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Forssberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eddie Engman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conny Hermansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lars Lidström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Eddie Engman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Väring FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bengt Vesterberg to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conny Hermansson in the 17th minute of play forced Väring FK's goalkeeper Eddie Engman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Lidström took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eddie Engman. Eddie Engman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 22nd minute Lars Lidström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Engman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Gustav Östlund was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Väring FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BK Stolpskott the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Lidström in the 29th minute of play forced Väring FK's goalkeeper Eddie Engman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sune Åkerström was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ingvar Forssberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sune Åkerström in the 35th minute of play. Lars Lidström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ingvar Forssberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sune Åkerström, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Conny Hermansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 52 minutes, Conny Lövgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BK Stolpskott and the Väring FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sune Åkerström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rune Gråberg came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Väring FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rune Gråberg couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rune Gråberg in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ingvar Forssberg saved BK Stolpskott from getting behind. After having played for 68 minutes, Rune Gråberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Väring FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rune Gråberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eddie Engman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Lidström in the 70th minute of the match. After 71 played minutes Väring FK got a freekick which was hit by Dan Fransson. After having played for 75 minutes, Rune Gråberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Väring FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rune Gråberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Conny Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Väring FK's Dan Fransson got a free kick in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Lars Lidström managed to get in a good position for a shot. BK Stolpskott's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars Lidström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddie Engman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 81 played minutes BK Stolpskott got a freekick which was hit by Folke Alebom. After 82 played minutes, Väring FK's Sven-Ove Blanck shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ingvar Forssberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Väring FK reached it. Ingvar Forssberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rune Gråberg in the 83rd minute of play. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind BK Stolpskott's goalkeeper Ingvar Forssberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The BK Stolpskott supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BK Stolpskott would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
