But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joacim Ekenberg couldn't finish the play. Rutger Boman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sune Åkerström in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Väring FK's Rune Gråberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rutger Boman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bo Fogel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Engman having to interfere. Bengt Vesterberg kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Eddie Engman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joacim Ekenberg in the 22nd minute of play. Sune Åkerström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Rutger Boman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Olof Rosén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the match, Harbo RK's goal looked a bit too open when Rune Gråberg came free, but Rutger Boman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sune Åkerström to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Väring FK booed when Harbo RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksander Boberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddie Engman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joacim Ekenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Väring FK's Eddie Engman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joacim Ekenberg in the 63rd minute of play. Eddie Engman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Sven-Ove Blanck was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Väring FK's zone, Joacim Ekenberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddie Engman came out of the goal and Joacim Ekenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Väring FK's Rutger Boman threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sune Åkerström, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rutger Boman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sune Åkerström, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
