Charlie Algren might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alex Erserman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Charlie Algren ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Mertinho booed when Byalagets Bollklubb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orvar Dalström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Linus Rosendal hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Alex Erserman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Olsman in the 12th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match Arne Olsman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alex Erserman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 18th minute, one of Mertinho:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mertinho. In the 25th match minute, Byalagets Bollklubb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orvar Dalström to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Mertinho's Karl-Erik Olsson got a free kick in the 30th minute. Arne Björkkvist struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Alex Erserman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mertinho. 34 minutes into the match, Mertinho's goalkeeper Kristoffer Sjödin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orvar Dalström. Alex Erserman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Björkkvist in the 36th minute of the match. After 37 minutes, Arne Björkkvist made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Byalagets Bollklubb's Alex Erserman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arne Olsman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Mertinho were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Arne Olsman made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Charlie Algren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Erserman was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After 52 played minutes Byalagets Bollklubb got a freekick which was hit by Ragnar Kinnman. After a defensive mix-up in Byalagets Bollklubb's zone, Arne Olsman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Erserman came out of the goal and Arne Olsman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 60 minutes, Arne Björkkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mertinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Björkkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute, Mertinho's Arne Björkkvist ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alex Erserman. Alex Erserman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Erik Olsson in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Erserman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74thth minute of the game Arne Björkkvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Byalagets Bollklubb's Alex Erserman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ragnar Kinnman hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Arne Olsman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Ove Asserlind received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Alex Erserman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Byalagets Bollklubb's goalkeeper Alex Erserman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hjalmar Gunnarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Karl-Erik Olsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kent Glanselius kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, one of Mertinho:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mertinho. The excitement rose when Byalagets Bollklubb's Alexander Modig after 95 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Mertinho's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 2-3. When the match was over Mertinho could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Byalagets Bollklubb throughout the match.
